Water Resources Engineer
Biohabitats is seeking a Water Resources Engineer with a strong background in water resources consulting and experience in production of design plans to join our Southwest Basin & Range Bioregion team in Santa Fe or Southern Rocky Mountain Bioregion in Denver.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, analytical, and engineering skills that can be applied to a variety of projects including preparation of design plans and construction documents, water/wastewater/stormwater modeling, and project coordination. The successful candidate will work with our multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists and landscape architects to support integrated water, wastewater/water/water reuse, and water planning projects for government, private, and non-governmental organizations.

Role and Responsibilities
- Supporting a range of planning and design projects (wastewater, water, greywater, rainwater and water reuse projects at various scales).
- Preparing design drawings, construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Assisting with construction phase services (e.g., bid support, construction observation).
Required Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
- Professional experience related to wastewater, water reuse, water resources and/or water planning.
- Strong proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong written and oral communication, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative, team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the Southwestern United States.
Preferred Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
- Professional experience related to stormwater management and green infrastructure, especially in arid regions.
- Stormwater, wastewater and related modeling knowledge and experience.
- REVIT knowledge and experience.
- ArcGIS knowledge and experience.
- Construction observation experience.
- Professional networking experience in Santa Fe/New Mexico, Denver/Colorado or throughout the Southwest.
Education
Bachelor's or master's degree in relevant engineering field (e.g. Civil, Environmental, or Ecological Engineering)
Years of Relevant Experience
2-5 years of relevant experience as a Water Resources Engineer.
Professional Registration
EIT, PE, or ability to obtain registration within 4 years
Salary Range
$75,000 - $95,000
Location
Santa Fe, NM or Denver, CO
